Nancy Anne Pines, 62, of Ellijay, Dawson County, died May 20, 2011.
Born June 24, 1948 in Syracuse, N.Y., she had lived in Dawson County for the past seven years, having moved from West Palm Beach, Fla.
She retired from the Palm Beach County State Attorney General's Office.
Ms. Pines worked to establish programs to provide financial assistance to battered women and volunteered with Habitat for Humanity.
Her father, William John Kitchen, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her companion, Albert J. Katren of Ellijay; children, Alan Edward Erisman of Atlanta, Kimberly Anne Erisman of Dawsonville, Christopher Patrick Poore of Ellijay; mother, Freda Fay Eveleigh of Ellijay; granddaughters, Kristina E. Erisman, Elizabeth A. Erisman, Haley E. Erisman, Emily A. Poore; aunt, Janice M. Freeman; six sisters; two brothers; various other relatives also survive.
Memorial services were held at 7 p.m. May 23 at McKees Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sven Mossinger officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Lung Association, 2452 Spring Rd., Smyrna, GA 30080.
Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
