Myrtle Granny Garner

Myrtle "Granny" Garner, 75, of Auburn, died July 19, 2017.

Born Sept. 17, 1941 to the late Sam and Vera Pope, she was a native Roswell and had lived in Auburn for the past year, having moved from Rockmart.

A homemaker at her death, Myrtle was formerly employed at Roswell Recycling and Great Oaks Nursing Home.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she possessed a love for animals and enjoyed flowers.

Her husband, Lyle Garner; a sister, and two brothers, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, Cynthia and Kevin McGrath of Dawsonville, Jeff Garner of Duluth, Susan Grizzle of Dallas, Sandra Garner of Murrayville, Bo Garner and Melissa Hall of Alpharetta, Judy Garner of Auburn; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. July 21 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Ricky Stepp officiating.

The family received friends from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home on Friday.
