Mildred Griffith Broome, 82, of Dawsonville, died March 8, 2015.
Mrs. Broome was born Aug. 30, 1932 in Fort Payne, Ala., to the late William and Hattie Griffith.
She had been a resident of Dawsonville since 1996, coming from Alpharetta.
She attended New Life Church in Dawsonville.
Her husband of 61 years, Carl R. Broome; son, David Broome; grandson, Brian Farmer; and a number of brothers and sisters, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Deloris Stanberry, Carolyn and Dale Campbell, all of Dawsonville; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Broome of Cumming; sister, Alene Martin of Michigan; grandchildren, Robert Brannon, Jennifer Frankland, Amanda Blanchard, Tammy Farmer; 11 great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. March 14 at New Life Church in Dawsonville. The remains were placed in state at 10 a.m. The Rev. Mike Owens officiated. Interment followed at 1:30 p.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery in Roswell.
Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
