Matthew J. “Matt” Kozik, 40, of Dawsonville, died Nov. 17, 2017.

Born Sept. 15, 1977 in Illinois, he had lived in Dawson County for the past 13 years having moved from Jasper.  Mr. Kozik was an automobile technician for Pep Boys in Cumming.  He enjoyed gardening, cooking and was a devoted husband, father and son.

Survivors include his wife, Laura Kozik of Dawsonville; children, Hayden, Nyla, Lukas; parents, Valentine and Susan Kozik of Blairsville; sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Michael Denton of Robbinsville, N.C.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Mary Lundy of Dawsonville; sister-in-law, Kelly Anderson of Dawsonville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Andrew and Lisa Lundy of Waleska; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Nov. 22 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Owens officiating.  Interment will follow in the Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Nov. 22 at the funeral home.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
