Mary Louise Primel, 64, of Dawsonville, died July 27, 2017.
She was a 38 year resident of Cumming. She was born Feb. 23, 1953 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Marvin and Dorothy Primel.
One of her favorite hobbies was visiting as many of the former President’s homes and bringing along anyone in the family who didn’t know the history. She managed to visit more than 20 of their homes.
She was also very devoted to creating the family tree for all the family members to look back at their heritage. She managed to track down the Primel family all the way back to 1066.
Mary began working in high school in
an internship program with AT&T and then she was hired fulltime by the
company after she graduated. She managed to work fulltime and complete a
bachelors’ degree in accounting at Oglethorpe University. She was still an
active employee with more than 46 years of service. During her career with
AT&T she had advanced to Data Processing associate Level III in IT
Services.
She also volunteered at many
organizations including, The Place of Forsyth County, Habitat for Humanity and
the Humane Society.
Survivors include her two cats, Mindy and Millie; sister, Diane Callahan; two nieces, Autumn Callahan and Christina Stalnaker; cousins, Linda Bianconi and Anna Deluca; best friend, Lisa McBride; various other relatives also survive.
A Memorial Mass was held at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 1 at Christ Redeemer Catholic Church in Dawsonville. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of “Mary Primel” were requested made to Habitat for Humanity, the Humane Society or Good Shepherd Catholic Church.
