Martha Day, 63, of Dawsonville, died Feb. 7, 2017.
Born Oct. 16, 1953 to the late Lee Joe and Bertha Richards, she had been a resident of Dawsonville for the past 49 years, coming from Forsyth County.
A member of Harmony Baptist Church, Day was employed as a supervisor for Walt Koch, Ltd.
A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Rev. J.W. Day.
Survivors include her children, Paula Green, Tracy and Michael Powers, all of Gainesville; James and Patty Day, B.J. Day, all of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Justin Green, Josh Green, Devin Powers, Taylor Day; sisters and brother-in-law, Betty Sue and David Rhoeden, Peggy Day, Mary Ann "Puddin" Richards, all of Cumming; Lula Nix of Dawsonville; aunt, Evelyn Stancil of Dahlonega; various other relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held Feb. 10 at 2 p.m. at Harmony Baptist Church. Rev. Tony Holtzclaw, Rev. Joey Gilbert and Rev. John Roden officiated. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
The family received friends at the funeral home on Feb. 8 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Feb. 9 from 2 to 8 p.m.
Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
