Margie Saine, 71, of Dahlonega, died Friday, Sept. 11, 2009.

Born Jan. 3, 1938 in Dawson County to the late Pool and Edna Jones, she had lived in Lumpkin County since 1964.

Mrs. Saine was formerly employed by the Smith House in Dahlonega and started her banking career in 1983 at Lumpkin County Bank. She also worked for First Community Bank and until her retirement she was Assistant Vice President and Travel Club Director at Chestatee State Bank.

She had been a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church since 1967.

Her son, Gregory Roy Saine; sister, Jeannie Burt; and brothers, Lee Jones and Carlton Ash, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Roy Saine of Dahlonega; children, Wanda Edmondson, Tabrina Saine, both of Dahlonega, Tracy Saine of Lawrenceville; sisters, Mildred Gaddis, Ruby Barron, both of Dawsonville, Janet Pendergrass of Gainesville; brothers, Lonnie Jones, Lloyd "Bug" Jones, Cecil Jones, Boyd "Bo" Jones, all of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Josh Edmondson, Torrey Nicely; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13 at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jerry Whitlock and Dean Bryant officiating.

Interment followed in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations were requested made to the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Building Fund, 280 Cane Creek Valley Road, Dahlonega, GA 30533.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
