Margaret "Peggy" Volmar, 87, of Dawsonville, died Jan. 28, 2015.

Born Feb. 23, 1927 in New York to the late John and Katherine Dooley, she had lived in Georgia since 2000. Mrs. Volmar retired in 1997 as the tax receiver for the town of Somers, N.Y. after more than 30 years of service.

Peggy was formerly employed as an executive secretary in New York City.

In addition to her parents, her husband, Albert Volmar; son, John Mazzei; and three sisters, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Lis and Dennis Logan of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Peter Mazzei, John Jr. and Patty Mazzei, Cariann Mazzei, Olivia Logan, Fraisia Logan, Bellamy Logan; great-grandchildren, Jake Mazzei, Cassidy Mazzei, Jamilee Mazzei, Amanda Mazzei, Dylan Mazzei; great-great-granddaughter, Kendall Mazzei; various other relatives also survive.

A memorial mass was held at 9 a.m. Jan. 31 at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church with the Fr. Brian Higgins officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations were requested made to the Dawson County Humane Society, 633 Martin Rd., Dawsonville, GA 30534.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
