Mabel Elrod Wallace, 93, of Dawsonville, died Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010.

  

Born Sept. 26, 1916 in Ducktown, Tenn. to the late Marlin and Carrie Elrod, she moved to Dawson County in infancy and lived her entire life here.

  

Mrs. Wallace was a homemaker and was the oldest member of Pleasant Hill Full Gospel Church, where she taught Sunday school for 30 years and was a soloist and sang in the choir.

  

Her husband, General Wallace; son, Bobby Wallace; grandson, Nick Wallace; brother, Troy Elrod; and sister, Madelene Beck, preceded her in death.

  

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Robert Rice of Dawsonville; daughter-in-law, Jo Wallace of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Kathy and David Gee, Pam and Johnny Young, Scott Wallace, Bobby Wallace; great-grandchildren, Cory and Harmony Gee, Dustin and Kristen Gee, Kayla Gee, Tara and Tim Hamby, Kristen Young, Lauren Wallace, Megan Wallace, Amy Wallace, Madison Wallace, Cameron Wallace; great-great-grandchildren, Karley Hamby, Amelia Gee; special niece, Carolyn Rice; various other relatives also survive.

  

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28 at Pleasant Hill Full Gospel Church with the Revs. J.W. Day, Leroy Blackwell and Jimmy Payne officiating. Interment followed in the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.

  

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
