Louine R. Anderson, 97, of Dawsonville, died Oct. 25, 2012.

Born Oct. 16, 1915 in Prairie Hill, Texas, to the late Pleasant R. and Julia Roberts, she and her husband moved from Atlanta to Lake Lanier in 1973, where they enjoyed boating and fishing.

Mrs. Anderson was a graduate of North Texas State and taught school in Texas, the Atlanta school system, in Douglasville and in Forsyth County until her retirement.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and of The Church of Christ.

A widow for 27 years, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph B. Anderson.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Ben R. and Sandra Anderson of Calhoun, Ed R. and Patti Anderson of Smyrna; stepson and daughter-in-law, Bill R. and Liz Anderson of Oakwood; four grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; various other relatives also survive.

Memorial services were held at 1 p.m. Nov. 5 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Dahlonega.

Because of Louine's love of dogs (especially shelties), in lieu of flowers, donations were requested made to the Dawson County Humane Society, 633 Martin Road, Dawsonville, GA 30534, or at www.dawsoncountyhumanesociety.org.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
