Lois Bannister Heard, 93, a lifelong resident of Forsyth County and lifelong member of Concord Baptist Church, died Friday, Feb. 26, 2010.

  

Her parents, Elmer and Effie Bannister; siblings, Clyde Bannister, Jay Bannister, Lawton Bannister, George Bannister and Edith Cox, preceded her in death.

  

Mrs. Heard retired from the Forsyth County School System after 33 years of service.

  

Mama Lois was a legendary cook for the stars that performed at Lanierland Country Music Park.

  

She enjoyed planting her flower gardens, being active in her church and loving her family and friends.

  

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Leon Jones of Cumming; grandchildren, Cindy J. Mills, Lisa and David Hood, Chad and Leslie Jones, all of Cumming; great-grandchildren, Megan and Nathan Bottoms, Courtney Lois Mills, Zach and Caroline Hood, Amber, Ali and Trent Jones; special friends, Eloise Hughes, Connie Sosebee, Judy Little and Cathy Grizzle; various other relatives also survive.

  

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28 at Concord Baptist Church with the Dr. Jimmy Orr and the Revs. Rubin Smith, John Lummus, Ruel Martin and Lester Cooper officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

  

In lieu of flowers, donations were requested made to the Concord Baptist Church Building Fund, 6905 Concord Road, Cumming, GA 30028.

  

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
