Linda Williams, 64, of Dawsonville, died Aug. 8, 2012.

Born Aug. 26, 1947, in Cambridge, Mass. to the late Cecil and Alma Dickson, she had lived in Dawson County for the past 21 years, having moved from Panama City, Fla.

Linda received her bachelor's degree from Ashford University and served as president of the Dawson County Chamber of Commerce for 16 years until her retirement one month ago.

She was devoted to the Dawson County community and gave her time to many organizations.

Her daughter, Khristina McArthur, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Marty Williams of Dawsonville; daughter, Angela Lackey of Brooks; granddaughters, Kayla Lackey, Rebecca McArthur; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joyce and Richard Arcement of Kenner, La.; niece, Katherine Arcement of Kenner, La.; nephew, Richard Arcement Jr. of Mobile, Ala.; cousins, Daryl Coleman, Shirley Chastain, Pat Coleman, Richard Dickson, Donna Jean Martin; various other relatives also survive.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Aug. 16 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Ron Laney officiating.

The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. on Aug. 16.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville is in charge of the arrangements.
