Leland E. Charles, 96, of Cumming, died June 16, 2010.

  

He was employed with the Forsyth County Road Department for over 18 years.

  

His first wife, Myrtle Charles; parents, Arthur and Fanny Charles and several brothers and sisters preceded him in death.

  

Survivors include his wife, Irene Samples Charles of Cumming; stepdaughters and stepsons-in-law, Janice and Carl Popham of Ball Ground, Judy Popham of Nelson, Linda and Johnny Pugh of Dawsonville; daughters-in-law, Peggy Samples of Houschton, Ellen Samples of Cumming; son-in-law, O.J. White of Fairmont; sister-in-law, Macy Charles of Cumming; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

  

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. June 19 at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Ronnie Brown and Ruel Martin officiating. Interment followed in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

  

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
