Lee R. Dixon Jr., 86, of Dawsonville, died Jan. 22, 2012.

Mr. Dixon was born Nov. 30, 1925, in Jefferson County to the late Lee Roy Dixon Sr. and Ada Bell Rhodes Dixon.

He was retired from E.I. DuPont where he was an electrician.

Mr. Dixon was a member of First Baptist Church of Dawsonville.

His parents; his wife, Joyce Rooks Dixon; and two of his sisters, Litha Curry and Gwynette Lewis, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his daughter, Deborah Dixon of Dawsonville; sister and brother-in-law, Ivelyn and Howard Gibson of Texas; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Janice Dixon of Augusta, Bobby and Jackie Dixon of North Augusta, S.C.; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Jan. 26 in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home in Gainesville with the Drs. Jim Gaines and Herbert Robinson officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Jan. 25 at the funeral home.
