Lawana Bruce Brown, 82, of Marietta, formerly of Dawsonville, died Oct. 25, 2011.

Born Oct. 21, 1929, to the late John and Rena Bruce, she lived most of her life in Dawson County before moving to Marietta in 1994.

Mrs. Brown retired from BellSouth in 1985 after 35 years of service.

Along with her husband, they formerly owned and operated Brown's Kountry Kitchen and the Toto Creek Café.

She was a member of Holt Road Baptist Church.

Her husband, Aubrey W. Brown and sister, Lula Helton, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Janie Brown of Dawsonville, Ricky and Suzy Brown of Stone Mountain, Tony and Sharon Brown of Marietta; sister, Sarah Henson of Ellijay; grandchildren, Tanya and Marc Dunn, Nick Brown, Julie Brown; great-granddaughter, Nichole Brown; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Oct. 27 at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gerald Edmondson officiating. Interment followed in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
