Kenneth Webster "Kenny" Stewart III, 12, of Dawsonville, died March 11, 2013.

Born Dec. 7, 2000, Kenny was a native of Forsyth County, but had lived in Dawson County since 2008.

He was a sixth-grade student at Dawson County Middle and was diagnosed with a brain tumor in November of 2008.

Kenny was sworn in as a U.S. Army Specialist by Ft. Benning, was awarded the rank of Ranger at Camp Merrell in Dahlonega and Gov. Nathan Deal awarded him the rank of lieutenant colonel.

He had the privilege of serving as bat boy for the Georgia-Georgia Tech baseball game at Turner Field to the benefit of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and served as Grand Marshal on opening day of the Dawson County Parks and Recreation baseball season.

He was granted a court order from the State Attorney General's office in both Georgia and Florida to be allowed to sky dive, which he did twice from 15,200 feet, which is the highest altitude allowed without oxygen.

In December, along with his brother, he had the opportunity to deer hunt on Jeff Foxworthy's farm, where he bagged a 13-pointer. Mr. Foxworthy had the deer mounted and delivered it to Kenny's home.

Survivors include his devoted mother, Anna Miles of Dawsonville; father, Kenny Stewart of Cumming; brother, Alex Stewart of Dawsonville; grandparents, Alec C. Miles of Whelling, W.V., Brenda L. Scott, Ken W. and Rhoda Stewart, all of Cumming; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. March 15 at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tim Bennett officiating. Interment followed at Moss Memorial Gardens with full military honors.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 8 p.m. March 14 at the funeral home.
