Katie Lee Wheeler, 90, of Cumming, died Dec. 22, 2012.
Mrs. Wheeler was born in 1922, and was a native of Forsyth County.
She lived fully and independently until very recently. Her interests included crocheting, sewing and gardening.
Mrs. Wheeler was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was employed by Lockheed Corporation in Marietta before her retirement.
She was also a member of Coal Mountain Baptist Church.
Her husband, Horace Edward Wheeler; and daughter, Judy Wheeler Chadwick, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Kutay of Gainesville; sister, Jamae Martin of Cumming; brothers, James Hammond of Dawsonville, Hugh Hammond of Cumming; granddaughters, Emily Gillum of Gainesville, Laura Harris of Cumming, LeAnn Schroyer of Lawrenceville; nephew, Michael Hammond of Cumming; four great-granddaughters; including her special namesake, Katie Harris; various other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 27 in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with the Revs. Danny Bennett and Tony Allen officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 6 to 9 on Dec. 26 and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Dec. 27 at the funeral home.
