Junior Clifton “J.C.” Kirby, 84, of Cumming, died Aug. 20, 2017.
He was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church, J.C. was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
His wife of 57 years, Velvie C. Kirby; and his son-in-law, Eddie Chester, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his children, Clifton and Amy Kirby, Fred and Virginia Kirby, all of Dawsonville, Ronnie Kirby, Nancy and Eugene Langston, Larry and Janice Kirby, Dorothy Chester, all of Cumming; grandchildren, Amanda Kirby, Shelby Kirby, Jonathan Kirby and fiancé Morgan Thomas, Kevin and Molly Kirby, James and Sabrina Chester, Carter Kirby; great-grandchildren, Nolan Bennett, Noah Bennett, Harley Rae Kirby, Wennie Kate Kirby; step-grandchildren, Patrick, Chris and Kevin Langston; four step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren; brothers, G.W. Kirby, J.D. Kirby, Ricky Kirby; sister, Jean Oliver; various other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Aug. 23 at New Harmony Baptist Church with the Revs. Donnie Nix, Johnny Purcell and Clyde Boling officiating. Remains will be placed in state at New Harmony Baptist church at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the hour of service, Aug. 23.
