Judith “Judie” Elton, 67, of Dahlonega, died Dec. 10, 2017

Born March 26, 1950 in Chicago, Ill. to the late John R., Jr. and Lillie Mae Cockerel, she had lived in Lumpkin County since 1995 having moved from Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

She was employed over 25 years in the printing industry and after moving to Dahlonega, Judie was employed at Grizzle Grading & Excavating.  She enjoyed nature photography, possessed a love for animals and enjoyed the outdoors.

Survivors include her husband of 23 years, Robert C. “Bob” Elton of Dahlonega; stepchildren, Teresa and Joseph Karwisch of Acworth, Peggy Ann and Jim Nations of Atlanta, Timothy and Linda Elton of Hollywood, Fla.; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Dec. 12 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Owens officiating.  Interment followed in Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.

The family received friends beginning at 1 p.m. Dec. 12 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center, 2150 Limestone Parkway # 222, Gainesville, Georgia  30501.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
