Johnny Young, 57, of Dawsonville, died Sept. 22, 2018.
Born April 11, 1961 in Hall County to the late Larry and Patricia Young, he had lived in Dawson County for the past 34 years.
Johnny and his wife owned Production Solutions in Dawsonville. He also had ownership and was an active partner in Victory Processing, Victory Foods, Tojo Properties, PJTT and Lanier Property Investment Group in Gainesville. He also partnered in Pearl River Foods and Pearl River Properties in Carthage, Miss. He was a faithful supporter of local churches, the Mississippi Children’s Hospital and helped fund a Truett McConnell Scholarship Fund. He will be missed very much by his partners and employees. Johnny enjoyed deer hunting and was a very devoted husband, father, Pops and brother.
His father-in-law, Robert Rice, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Pam Young of Dawsonville; daughters and sons-in-law, Tara and Tim Hamby, Kristen and Ryan Seay of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Karley Hamby, Karson Hamby, Sawyer Seay, Lyla Seay; sisters, Kim Young of Dawsonville, Kellie Young of Kennesaw; mother-in-law, Betty Rice of Dawsonville; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kathy and David Gee of Dawsonville; special cousin “brother,” Johnny Appling; various other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sept. 26 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Craig Jones, Todd Robson and Phillip Jones officiated. Interment followed in the Pleasant Hill Full Gospel Church Cemetery.
The family received friends from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sept. 24 and from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sept. 25 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Truett McConnell College, 100 Alumni Drive, Cleveland, Ga. 30528 or to the Children’s of Mississippi Hospital, 2500 N. State Street, Jackson, Miss. 39216 in memory of Johnny Young.
