Obituaries

John Vernon Bryant, 71, of Marble Hill died Oct. 10, 2017.

Born Sept. 16, 1946 in McKeesport, Penn. to the late Vernon and Josephine Bryant, he lived in Dawson County for the past 13 years having moved from Roswell. 

Mr. Bryant retired as a building contractor specializing in residential construction.  He was a US Marine Corps veteran of Viet Nam and was a member of the Viet Nam Veterans of America.  He enjoyed bass fishing and was a member of River Bend Gun Club where he enjoyed competing in action pistol matches.  He was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church.  

His brother, Vernon Charles Bryant, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Linda Bryant of Marble Hill; children, John V. Bryant, Jr. of Marble Hill, Susan and Mike Ganucheau of Sandy Springs; grandchildren, Ethan Ganucheau, Brendan Ganucheau; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Marsha Bryant of Scottsdale, Ariz.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. today at Georgia National Cemetery with Vic Wallace officiating.

Bearden Funeral Home in Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
