John Alden Scarlet, 65, of Dawsonville, died June 25, 2017.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Scarlet of Dawsonville; daughter, Tasha and Matt Tolbert of Dawsonville; adopted son, Chris Pruett of Dawsonville; brothers, Bob Scarlet, Mike Scarlet, Jimmy Scarlet, all of Mo.; sisters, Sandy Ponzar, Tina Orick, both of Mo.; grandchild, Nathan Tolbert; a host of foster children; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. June 29 from the chapel of Darby Funeral Home with interment following at the Georgia National Cemetery with full military honors. The Rev. Johnny Padgett will officiate. Visitation will be held from 2 to 9 p.m. June 28 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations were requested to help offset final expenses.
