Jerrell William Steele, 80, of White, Ga., died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009.

Mr. Steele was born April 10, 1929 in Orange, Fla., a son of the late James and Mary Taylor Steele.

He was a member of the Rowland Springs Baptist Church, United States Navy veteran of World War II and Korea and retired from the U.S. Government.

His three brothers, James R. "Bo" Steele, Herman Steele and Eddie Steele, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Steele; children, Carol and Mike Key of White, Roy and Jill Steele of Tallapoosa, Ginger and Vance Wood of Dawsonville; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and Larry Brown of Marietta; brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Carol Steele of Warner Robbins; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28 from the Chapel of the Owen Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Ringwalt officiating. Interment followed in the Sunset Memory Gardens.

Owen Funeral Home of Cartersville was in charge of the arrangements.
