James Pinkston Flowers
Retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel James Pinkston Flowers, 76, of Dawsonville, died April 6, 2019. Jimmy, as known by his many friends, grew up in Dawson, graduating from Terrell High School in 1960. He went on to North Georgia College, where he graduated in 1964 and joined the Army. He served 20 years, with tours in Vietnam, Taiwan, and Germany before ending his career at the Pentagon. Following retirement, he joined USAA, a national security company, and quickly became Executive Vice President of Administration, Operations and Human Resources.
