James Maxwell Jim Day

James Maxwell “Jim” Day, 46, of Dawsonville, died Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008 at his residence following a sudden illness.

 

 

A native of Gwinnett County, he was raised in Forsyth County and moved to Dawson County in 1992.

 

 

Mr. Day was an accomplished carpenter, woodworker, mechanic, electrician and along with his wife, ran a family business.

 

 

He was of the Methodist faith and was preceded in death by his father, Herbert “Junior” Gilleland, Jr.

 

 

Survivors include his wife, Faye Day of Dawsonville; daughters, Jamie Day, Crystal Day, Vanessa Derrett, all of Dawsonville; mother, Harriet Gilleland of Dawsonville; sisters and brother-in-law, Samantha Cayden Day, Connor Derrett; various other relatives also survive.

 

 

Funeral services were Thursday, Sept. 25 at 1 p.m. at Bearden Funeral home Chapel with Rev. David Frix officiating.

 

 

Interment followed in the Duluth City Cemetery.

 

 

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
