James "Jimmy" Paul Barrentine, 65, of Cumming, died Dec. 12, 2013.

Born in Jasper, Ala. he was the son of the late Archie and Jessie Barrentine.

He was a sales representative for Holcim Inc. An avid golfer, fisherman and builder, he loved to spend time with his family and one of his passions was to cook for his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Barrentine of Cumming; children, Jennifer and Stephen Lucas of Dawsonville, James Paul Barrentine Jr., Sunny Nichole Barrentine, Jessica Bridgett Barrentine, all of Cumming; brother, Archie C. Barrentine Jr. of Knoxville, Tenn.; sisters, Pamela Goode of Evans, Sandra L. Alexander of Dawsonville; grandchildren, James Avery Humphries, Michael Wayne Adams Jr., Kerrilynn Greer, Emily Lucas, Hayden Barrentine, Walker Greer, Jeb Skiver and Jayden Bowen; various other relatives also survive.

Memorial services were held at 1 p.m. Dec. 14 in the McDonald and Son Chapel.

McDonald and Son Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
