James “Jimmy” A. Coats, 62, of Covington, died April 29, 2010.

  

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he received two purple hearts and many other medals.

  

He will always be remembered as a loving father and grandfather.

  

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Marty and Jeana Coats of Jackson, S.C., Johnny and Kim Coats of Auburn, Ga.; fiancé, Tammy Woody of Covington; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Samuel and Bonnie Coats of Dawsonville, Howard and Janice Coats of Griffin; sister and brother-in-law, Yvonne and Arbin Martin of Dawsonville; various other relatives also survive.

  

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. May 2 in the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jason Anglin officiating. Interment followed in Roswell Cemetery in Roswell.

  

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
