Ila Mae Phillips

Ila Mae Phillips, 91, of Dawsonville, died Feb.16, 2018.

Born Oct.26, 1926 in Waycross to the late Claude and Marie Lovett, she had lived in Dawson County since 1985 having moved from Clarkston.  Mrs. Phillips took great pride in being a devoted homemaker, mother and friend and was a member of Mt. Paran Church of God.

Her husband, James D. Phillips; brothers and sisters, Marguerite Moore, C.W. Lovett, Alvin Lovett, Ruth Whayne, and Blanche Crider, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Billy Sherwood of Dawsonville; grandson, Brandon Akins; great-grandson, Bentley Akins; brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Louise Lovett of Alpharetta; nieces; nephews; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Feb. 18 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Brian Haas officiating.

The family received friends from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Feb. 18 at the funeral home.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
