Hugh Stanley Stroup, 56, of Dawsonville, died May 7, 2011.

Born in Chamblee, he was the son of the late Hugh and Ruby Stroup.

Survivors include his wife, Dixie Stroup of Winder; sister, Joan Jones of Dawsonville; son, Michael Stroup of Cumming; daughters, Sarah Barber of Dawsonville; Kimberly and Colleen Stroup of Winder; four grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Memorial services were held at 3 p.m. May 14 in the chapel of McDonald and Son Funeral Home.

McDonald and Son Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
