Hazel Smith Wallace, 87, of Dawsonville, died March 13, 2018.
Born Dec. 18, 1930 in Forsyth County to the late Rufus and Estelle Smith, she lived most of her life in Dawson County. Hazel was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, gardening and quilting. She was of the Baptist faith.
Her husband of 68 years, Clayton Stowers Wallace; daughter, Eleanor Wallace Swafford, and two sisters, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her son-in-law, Gerald Swafford of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Beth and Brent Covington of Dawsonville; sister-in-law, Grace Pirkle of Dawsonville; various other relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. March 15 at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jason Hamby and Rev. Stephen Davis officiating. Interment followed in the Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family received friends from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. March 14 at the funeral home.
Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
