Hazel R. Pruitt

Hazel R. Pruitt, 80, a native of Cumming, a longtime resident of Dawsonville, and current resident of Tignall, died Feb. 24, 2017.

Hazel was born in 1936, to the late Elmer and Dersie Gilbert.

She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

She will be missed dearly.

In addition to her parents, her brothers, Wallis and Howell Gilbert, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Leon Pruitt; children, Judy and Fred Pack, Jane and Vaughn Terrell, Carl and Sarah Pruitt, Christy Pruitt; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Feb. 27 in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with the Revs. Jerry Orr and Michael Pruitt officiating. Interment followed at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requested that donations be made to the Washington-Wilkes County Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 121, Washington, GA 30673.

If flowers are sent, the family requests silk flowers that can be used at the cemetery.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
