Gracie Ray, 79, of Dawsonville, died Oct. 18, 2011.

Born May 25, 1932 to the late John W. and Kate Gaddis, she was a lifelong resident of Forsyth County.

A homemaker at her death, Mrs. Ray retired from Fieldale Poultry after many years of service. She was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church.

Her husband, James Charley Ray; sister, Bessie Heath; brothers, Junior Gaddis, Royce Gaddis, Loyd Gaddis and Russell Gaddis, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, Joyce Beck, Cathy and Charles Stargel, Jackie Ann and Mike Bruce, all of Dawsonville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Annette and Gene Carnes, Annie Maude Gayton, all of Dawsonville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Edd and Ellen Gaddis, James and Chester Gaddis, all of Dawsonville, Dorothy Gaddis of Canton; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Oct. 19 at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church with the Revs. Wilson Pruitt, Gene Carnes and Tony Holtzclaw officiating. Interment followed in the Four Mile Baptist Church Cemetery.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
