Grace Ridings Thompson, 88, of Cherokee County, died Friday, Aug. 1, 2008 following an extended illness.

 

Mrs. Thompson was the widow of Rev. Paul Thompson. She was a faithful and active member of Longstreet Baptist Church.

 

Survivors include her children, Jimmy and Willene Thompson of Cherokee County, Jeanette Vaughters of Dawson County, Pam Thompson of Cherokee County; grandchildren, Tommy and Brip Thompson, Sammy and Paula Thompson, Hal and Sherry Thompson, Crystal and Ricky Nabors, Amy and Steve Sinnamon, Donna and Stevie Sheriff, Russell and Melanie Vaughters; 10 great-grandchildren; brother and sisters-in-law, Aubrey and Elizabeth Ridings of Forsyth County, Betty Ridings of Forsyth County, Mattie Davis of Dekalb County; sisters, Virginia Barron of Forsyth County, Wynell Thompson of Forsyth County, Luna Mae Roper of Cherokee County; caregiver, Roberta Goss; various other relatives also survive.

 

Funeral services were Monday, Aug. 4 at 3 p.m. at Longstreet Baptist Church with Revs. John Lummus, Terry Caylor Michael Cantrell, Gerral Richards and Larry Pollard officiating.

 

Interment followed in the church cemetery.

 

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
