Glen C. Amburn, 50, of Dawsonville, died July 9, 2014.

Mr. Amburn was born Oct. 9, 1963, in Licking, Mo., and had lived in Dawson County for the past 25 years. He owned and operated G's Barber Shop in Dawsonville and was an avid farmer who loved raising cattle.

Glen was a U.S. Army veteran and was preceded in death by his father and stepmother, Carl H. and Agnes Amburn.

Survivors include his wife of 10 years, Lauren Amburn of Dawsonville; daughter, Sarah Newton of Dawsonville; mother, Leona Furr of South Carolina; sisters and brother-in-law, Tammy and David Holifield and their two children of South Carolina, Gloria Johnson of Ohio; brothers and sister-in-law, Mariece Scott of Tampa, Fla., Carl Jr. and Cassandra Amburn, Terry Amburn, Lee Johnson, all of Missouri; various other relatives also survive.

The family is planning a private memorial service.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
