George Goody Goedhart

George "Goody" Goedhart, 70, of Dawsonville, died March 5, 2016.

Born Nov. 23, 1945, Mr. Goedhart lived most of his life in East Rutherford, N.J. He spent his working career as a carpenter where he was a member of Local 15.

Prior to his carpentry work he spent a number of years in the music industry as a drummer, where he played with many recording artists and toured with the band Salvation.

He also owned several night clubs.

Always being known as quite the character, Goody had many interests, which included collecting vintage cars, riding Harleys and racing boats.

His parents, Helen and Peter Goedhart, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his companion of 29 years, Deborah Maxwell of Dawsonville; various other relatives also survive.

Private services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, donations were asked to be made to the American Diabetes Association, www.diabetes.org.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville is in charge of the arrangements.
