George “Billy” English, 78, of Dawsonville, died July 27, 2017.

Billy was an Army veteran, a member of Masonic Lodge No. 235 in Alpharetta and the American Legion in Florida.

He was also a member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Milton.

His parents, J.D. and Aileen English, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Betty Brown of Dawsonville; sons, Kevin Warren English of Dawsonville, Scott Bradley of Johns Creek; stepsons, Keith and Donna Akins of Gainesville, Tony and Tina Burnett, Timothy Burnett, all of Cumming; two grandchildren, Shiann Merrill English, Kenzly Rain English; brother, Michael and Dianne English of North Carolina; sister, Patricia Blackwell of Dawsonville; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. July 30 in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with the Rev. Jackie Stewart officiating.

Flowers were accepted, or donations were requested made to The American Red Cross monetarily or by blood donation.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
