Evelyn Bennett Gazaway Parker

Evelyn Bennett Gazaway Parker, 90, of Gainesville, formerly of Dawson County, died Jan. 10, 2015.

Evelyn was born in Dawson County to the late Arch and Ola Bennett and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.

The father of her children, Ford Gazaway; husband, Homer Parker; daughter, Joan Gazaway Abbott Westmoreland; sisters, Corene Jenkins, Louise Smith and Geneva Cook Patton; and brothers, Lania Bennett and Lyman Bennett, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Larry Martin; son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Marla Gazaway; grandchildren, Steven and Tabatha Abbott, Stanley and Gwinn Abbott, Brian and Sally Martin, Holly and Michael Bottoms, Shane and Renee Gazaway; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Sara Sheffield; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Jan. 13 in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home. Interment followed at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family accepted flowers, or those who wish, were asked to make a donation to Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 100 Lumpkin Campground Rd., Dawsonville, GA 30534.

Ingram Funeral Home, along with SouthCare Cremation and Funeral Society of Alpharetta, was in charge of the arrangements.
