Etta Mae Jett Ayers
Obituaries

Etta Mae Jett Ayers, 95, of Dawsonville, died Nov. 2, 2017.

Born April 1, 1922 to the late Claude and Mae Jett, she had been a resident of Dawson County for most of her life. She worked full time as a seamstress until her retirement at age 79. A member of Winds of Peace Fellowship, Etta was a great example and faithful servant. 

Her husband, Walter Lee Ayers, Sr.; son, Lee Ayers; great-grandson, Abram Ayers; three brothers; and three sisters, preceded her in death.

Survivors include three daughters, Frances Lester of Dawsonville, Shirley Hulett of Dawsonville, Joyce Waters of Cleveland; daughter-in-law, Wanda Ayers of Dawsonville; 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Nov. 5 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Panter officiating. Interment followed in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday November 4 from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
