Dorothy "Dot" Garner, 88, of Dawsonville, died Feb. 3, 2015.

Born July 3, 1926, to the late Richard and Ruth Edmondson, Ms. Garner had been a resident of Dawsonville for the past 20 years, coming from Atlanta.

A loving mother, who also had a great love for her pets, she retired from Shallowford Hospital, where she worked for many years as a housekeeper.

Her son, Thomas Craig Callaway, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Martha Lynne Callaway of Dawsonville; one sister; two brothers; various other relatives also survive.

Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Feb. 6 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Owens officiating.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
