Dean Couch, 90, of Dawsonville, died Aug. 28, 2017.
Born May 27, 1927 in Dawson County to the late Henry Grady and Texie Cordelia Couch, he lived several years in Hall County before returning to Dawson County in the 1940s.
Mr. Couch was a retired residential carpenter and formerly operated Chestatee Grocery and Carting Center.
Dean enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. A member of Harmony Baptist Church, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Claudine Ledford, Lorene Underwood and Juanita Garrett.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 70 years, Carmen E. “Pat” Couch of Dawsonville; daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah Stowers, Jennie and Jimmy Wilson, Pam and Mike Henson, Kay and Tony Wiley, all of Dawsonville, Dawn and Phil Moore of Cumming; sister, Mary Carnes of Lula; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Aug. 31 at Harmony Baptist Church with the Revs. Tony Holtzclaw and Sam Morris officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
