Claude Chastain, 72, of Dawsonville, died Aug. 11, 2010.

  

Born Feb. 9, 1938 to the late W.L. "Duck" and Odell Chastain, he was a lifelong resident of Dawson County.

  

Mr. Chastain retired from Georgia Power after more than 30 years of service.

  

He possessed a great love for gardening and enjoyed playing cards. Claude was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Chastain; and a son, Danny Chastain.

  

Survivors include his wife, Virginia "Jennie" Chastain of Dawsonville; sons, Jeffrey Chastain of Dawsonville, Joseph Chastain of Utah; sister, Minnie Lois Chastain of Dawsonville; grandson, Logan Chastain; various other relatives also survive.

  

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Aug. 14 at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Hugh Fields and Jason Hamby officiating. Interment followed in Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.

  

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
