Chris Richardson, 51, of Bishop, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2019 at Piedmont Hospital.

Born Aug. 27, 1968 he had lived in Bishop for the past eight years.  

Chris was born and raised in Griffin and was a 1986 graduate of Griffin High School.  He attended Georgia Tech and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Clayton State University.  He worked as a Senior HR Manager at AT&T for over 20 years and continued to work until his illness prevented it.  A beloved son, brother, husband, father and friend, he was an avid reader, loved music, and especially his pets.  Chris was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Richardson.

Surviving are his wife, Cathy Kilroe-Smith Richardson, Bishop; children, Jordan, William and Genevieve; mother and stepfather, Jean and Greg Thomas, Dahlonega; brothers, Jon Richardson, Matt and Kristin Richardson, Dahlonega; sisters, Tifanie Keldorph, N.C., Lori Woolwine, Monroe; aunt and uncle, Judy and Carl Haas, Ellijay; mother-in-law and father- in-law, Shirley and Ben Durham, South Africa; nieces and nephews, Donovan, Maya, Maddie, Mary Anglin, Reagan; his loving family in South Africa; Various other relatives also survive.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, Dec. 7, at 11 a.m. at Campus View Church of Christ. It was officiated by Lead Minister Jerry Neill.

The family received friends at the church beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
