Charlie A. Ridley, 71, of Dawsonville, died April 23, 2010.

  

His parents, Alex and Louise Ridley preceded him in death.

  

He was a deacon of First Baptist Church of Dawsonville.

  

Mr. Ridley retired as director of sales ratio with the Georgia Department of Audits and Accounts.

  

He served as Lumpkin County Sole Commissioner from 1996-2000.

  

Mr. Ridley was a member of Blue Mountain Lodge No. 38, Atlanta Shriners Temple, Order of Eastern Star No. 333 and board member of Southern Community Bank, formerly Appalachian Community Bank.

  

Survivors include his wife, Julia Ridley of Dawsonville; children, Michael Ridley, Mitchell (Shay) Ridley, all of Dahlonega, Michael Courson of Lithia Springs, Tonya (Ed) Guinn of Butler; grandchildren, Christopher (Lynsey) Ridley of Dawsonville, Jonathan Ridley, Whitney (Chris) Christy, Miranda Marlow, Alex Ridley, all of Dahlonega, Austin Guinn, Conner Guinn, John Nelon Guinn, Addie Guinn, all of Butler; great-grandchildren, Maddie Christy and Marlie Marlow, both of Dahlonega; various other relatives also survive.

  

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. April 26 at the First Baptist Church of Dawsonville with Dr. Jim Gaines officiating. Interment followed in Yahoola Baptist Church Cemetery in Dahlonega.

  

Banister Funeral Home of Dahlonega was in charge of the arrangements.
