Charles Edward Woody, 83, of Dawsonville, died Sept. 22, 2017.
Born Sept. 12, 1934 in Hall County to the late Van and Kate Woody, he lived the last 50 years in Dawson County. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, United States Air Force veteran and an avid fisherman. He retired from Mark Heard Fuel Company with over 20 years of service.
His siblings, Norma Lee, Ruth, Ettoulene, Kathleen, Cleo, Walter, Marvin, John C., David, Goldie and Theo preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Frances Woody of Dawsonville; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Tracey Woody, Steven and Ellen Woody, all of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Kyle and Erika Woody, Kevin and Lauren Woody, Joshua Woody, Alyss Woody, Connor Woody; great grand-children, Laila, Rhett and Hampton Woody, Carsynn Bourrie; three sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; various other relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sept. 24 at Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Bottoms, Rev. Stephen Davis and Rev. Jerry Frazier officiating. Interment followed in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family received friends from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sept. 23 at the funeral home.
