Carroll Johnson, 79, of Alma, died June 28, 2010.

  

He was a native of Bacon County and son of the late Lem Johnson and Maggie Slaughter Johnson.

  

A wife, Lucille Tanner Johnson; two daughters, Carolyn Daniel, Jackie Pickering; a brother, Walter Johnson; and a sister, Doris Westberry, preceded him in death.

  

Survivors include his daughter, Jan Tinsley (Deano) of Hazlehurst; special friend and companion, Bonnie Lewis of Alma; three brothers, Darrell Johnson of Barstow, Calif., Ervin Johnson of Alma, James Roy Johnson of Dawsonville; four sisters, Annie Merle Johnson of Douglas, Lavada Cothern and Linda Boatright, both of Alma; three grandchildren and great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

  

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. July 2 from the Chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with the Revs. Lowell Lee and Pet Hayes officiating. Interment followed in Rose Hill Cemetery.

  

Active pallbearers were: Jaime Boatright, Bobby Boatright, Leslie Cothern, Roger Johnson, Marcus Harper and Bruce Brohannon. All others in attendance were considered honorary escorts.

  

Crosby Funeral Home of Alma was in charge of the arrangements.
