Carol M. Rennell, 75, of Dawsonville, died June 9, 2010.

  

Born March 1, 1935 in Detroit, Mich. to the late Martin and Eleanor Kaiser, she had lived in Dawson County for more than 20 years, having moved from Dunwoody.

  

Mrs. Rennell was a retired registered nurse with over 50 years of service.

  

She was employed by hospitals in New York and Atlanta, but most of her work was with special needs children and young adults.

  

She was the former president of the Dawson County Woman's Club, was a member of the Dawson County Arts Council and was a devoted volunteer to women's shelters, the Dawson County Library and her church.

  

Mrs. Rennell was a member of Christ Redeemer Catholic Church and was also preceded in death by her brothers, Marty Kaiser and Jim Kaiser.

  

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, John Rennell of Dawsonville; children, John Jr. and Julie Rennell of Suwanee, Kathy and Jim Forbes of Atlanta, Linda Preuss of Milton, Karen and Baudouin de la Tour of Paris, France, Dan and Diane Rennell of Kansas City, Kan.; sister, Joanne Merrifield of Marietta; sister-in-law, Betty Kaiser of Northville, Mich.; 15 grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

  

Funeral mass was held at 11 a.m. June 12 at Christ Redeemer Catholic Church with the Msgr. Stephen Churchwell officiating. Interment followed in the Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.

  

In lieu of flowers, donations were requested made to your favorite charity.

  

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
