Billy Charles Cowart, 72, of Cumming, died April 23, 2013.
Billy was of the Baptist faith.
He loved being outdoors, cars, fishing and his roosters.
Most of all, he loved his family.
His parents, the Rev. Clay and Edith Kate Lawson Cowart, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Doris Cowart of Cumming; daughter, Tammy and Clinton Sheriff of Dawsonville; son, Tyler Cowart of Cumming; grandchildren, Blakely and Madison Sheriff; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Harold Gravitt of Cumming; aunt, Inez Howard of Alpharetta; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Charles and Louise Payne, Catherine Sudderth, Charlene and Sammy Mayfield, all of Buford, Eddie and Brenda Payne of Flowery Branch, Donald Payne of Forest City, N.C., Debra and Tommy Gaillard of Maysville; various other relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. April 25 in the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Harold Bottoms and Terry Cowart officiating. Interment followed at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.
Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory of Cumming was in charge of the arrangements.
