Betty Jenkins, 73, of Dawsonville, died Nov. 3, 2013.

Born April 8, 1940, in Canton to the late Albert and Daisy Dean, she lived most of her life in Dawson County.

Mrs. Jenkins was employed at Sweet-Orr for 35 years, after which she worked for Legacy Link until her retirement.

Betty was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Jenkins; sisters, Grace Phillips, Brenda Dean; and brothers, Donald Dean and Ronald Dean.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Charlie Strickland of Dawsonville, Sheree and Lamar Sawyer of Canton; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Robin Jenkins of Dawsonville; sisters, Rosamae Osborne of Milledgeville, Dorothy Epperson of Alpharetta, Bell Haygood, Carolyn Hudson, both of Cumming; brother, Bill Dean of Acworth; grandchildren, April Beavers, Bethany Strickland, Amanda Odom, Carrie Strickland, Lewellyn Payne, Hughes Sawyer; various other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Nov. 5 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Danny Park officiating. Interment followed in Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations were requested made to the funeral home to help offset expenses.

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
