Betty Jane Swenson, 87, of Dawsonville, died March 11, 2019.
Born Jan. 23, 1932 in Tallahassee, Fla. to the late Max O. and Emma Watson, she had lived in Dawsonville since 2008 having moved from McDonough.
Along with her husband, they owned and operated A-OK Heating and Cooling. Betty was a wonderfully funny, strong, loving woman who was adored by all. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. The family would like to give a special thanks to all who assisted with her care the past few years.
Her husband, Merlyn E. “Mike” Swenson; and brothers, Ralph Watson, Tommy Watson, Max Watson, and T. C. Raker, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children, Mary Evelyn and Darrell DeVane of Lawrenceville, David and Sue Swenson of Concord, Ga., Bill Swenson of Dawsonville; sister, June Revells of Chattahoochee, Fla.; brother and sister-in-law, Rudy and Johanna Watson of Tallahassee, Fla; numerous incredibly loved grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. March 15 in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Melinda Gilreath officiating.
Interment services were held at 2 p.m. March 16 in the Oakland Cemetery in Tallahassee, Fla., where she was buried beside her parents.
The family received friends from 11 a.m. until the hour of service March 15 at the funeral home.
Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
