Betty Jane Davis, 83, of Dawsonville, died Nov. 7, 2010.

 

Born Feb. 17, 1927 in Big Cove Tannery, Pa. to the late John and Lelia Culler, she had lived in Dawson County since 1996.

 

Mrs. Davis retired from Rich's Bake Shop in Atlanta and enjoyed square dancing and round dancing with the "Merry Mixers" club.

 

A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she was a member of McKee's Chapel United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by a brother, Merrill Culler and sister, Marjorie Glenn.

 

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Carl E. Davis of Dawsonville; son, Douglas S. Davis of Dawsonville; granddaughters, Alicia Davis Pettyjohn of Dawsonville, Krista Davis Mitic of Hinesville, Danielle Davis Rodriguez of Demorest; sisters, Jean Weller, Dolores Souders, Martha Gordon, Patricia Horton, all of McConnellsburg, Pa., Soundra Shaffer of Harrisburg, Pa.; brothers, H.J. Culler, Donald Culler, Gerald Culler, all of McConnellsburg, Pa.; four great-grandchildren; various other relatives also survive.

 

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Nov. 11 at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sven Mossinger officiating. Interment followed in the McKee's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

 

Bearden Funeral Home of Dawsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
